The House

The Country House Luís Gonzaga is a restored country house where the tenants of the present owner’s family have lived on the 1st floor and the ground floor was the animal shop, the granary, the wine cellar and the pantry. There is also a rural kitchen with a traditional bread oven which, during festivities, was also used by the inhabitants of Portela Street.

Nowadays, the house offers spaces which are open to sociability and leisure, gifted of rare beauty and comfort. There is still the oven to cook bread, the fireplace with kitchen stool, and the paved floor, combining perfectly with the granite, the wood and the sisal.

You can enjoy a surprising panoramic view, spreading over the hills’ slopes, the pastures’ mires, the pigeon houses, and as background, strong and haughty, the castle, the citadel and the city of Bragança.
